Description

Strange things happen when suddenly my SAI went down. You see a Picture for :iconkooner01: but what you see is not what was original. I managed somehow to let SAI crashed in the middle of saving my picture. After starting my PC new and open SAI again, the picture is god thanks there where it belongs. But suddenly it has only one layer and many effects are missing or completing to much. Also the whole color schematic changed to only red like colors.

For me and Kooner it doesn't look bad, we like it, but after all the original picture is missing and I also can't edit it to the original. So here it is, the new version. XD

This is Autumn Leaves a OC from :iconkooner01: The first picture of two for him. A gift picture for one of my best friends here.

I'm going to first off say that I love the composition of this piece, and the emotion is clear and reads well as frolicking and enjoying a sunny autumn day! (Which is my favorite season)

It's unfortunate that your SAI crashed and altered it to the red family based on your description, but inevitibly, I believe that may have been a good thing! The warmth of the color palette brings a balance to the character's peachy-creme coat that enhances it in an almost frame-like way.

The shadows make sense on the character for the depth that is being achieved, but the tree shadows seem a bit odd. It makes me wonder about the reality of the trees casting the shadow above, as there's a random gap/opening in them that she's basking in? I feel it would be more successful to have knocked out the bottom shadow and focused on having some interaction with the shadow above her head with her hair and face potentially, as it seems it started to creep up on her ear.

I'm also not sure if her right arm is a tad short, but that could just be the perspective in play here.

The only other thing that I would suggest for this piece is to tone down on the bloom effect. I don't think dying autumn leaves are reflective enough to actually wash away their distinguishable veins and patterns, but the bloom on the character is just right

Overall, a fantastic piece that has great presence and emotion and would probably work well as a large scale print. In any case, this easily deserves a favorite and should be shared
