Description

The best mother of the world and her daughter enjoying this vacation too? Why not? Even our beloved mail mare needs some times to rest.

And with her Apple Bloom can try alot of weird stuff to find maybe her cutie mark on this vacation.

But it seems this is not really that what Apple Bloom wanted...

You have developed a lot since your earliest submissions, and this piece is a good example of that.

The scenario itself is a bit generic (the typical "sunshine, seaside and fun" theme seen in 90% of mainstream seinen manga/anime), but it's popular and meets the genre's criteria, so it's something you can't lose with. The composition of the picture is nice, it seems to properly follow the rule of thirds – only complaint is that the side edge of the magnifying bubble is too close to the image border and the lower edge is chipped off.

The atmosphere of the scenario is carried through by the use of lively and authentic colors that grab the viewer's attention. The anatomy is pretty well made in spite of the tricky angles, though some facial features seem a bit slant. I find the lens reflection and lens distortion in the background very appealing, though the texture of water doesn't seem to follow its curve properly.

The lighting angles are good, though only diffuse shadows are used, while on a bright day, projected shadows should have more contrast, even with a reflective surface below the characters – this applies to the close-ups only, of course, as the distant glider seems fine. Well, almost: I it looks more like if naked Spitfire and Silver Spoon were up there, according to the color of their manes, but that wouldn't make any sense, so it's just being a bit sketchy.

Since Ponies have been a hype for more than a year now, it's pretty obvious that this image 'sells itself' to the fanbase, but I must further penalize your originality for using the existing characters of an existing realm; this is the curse of fanart, which can't be evaded, not even by the most original fanmade characters.

So, all in all, I think this is your most impressive work so far, and I encourage you to continue pursuing your artistic aspirations.
